Nursery Design

I love designing nurseries and kid spaces. Color and fun fabrics are more often said "yes" to, and who doesn't like buying stuffed animals as accessories? I don't like to go the "theme" route and generally just go with a typical design scheme that entails a color palette, a look and feel in mind, and intent to incorporate some playfulness and whimsy.

This nursery design below was for my baby boy, Gunnar, who is now 11 months old! He inherited pretty much everything from his big brother's nursery, like the crib, chair and ottoman, shades, and dresser- even the shelves on the wall stayed- so it was a task to make the room feel like a new design. I wanted this room to feel fresh and light, but still with some contrast so it didn't feel too "sweet". I have fun envisioning who the little person will be and what the personality will be like. So far, this room perfectly suits Gunnar.
